Our Current Board
We are proud to have a fine set of volunteers helping our chapter!
Board Members
If you are interested in helping in any way, please contact us.
David Steele - President
He began dancing in the 7th grade when he won the school's twist competition. In the early eighties, he took ballroom lessons at Roland's in Fayetteville, NC. He took a leave of absence from dancing due to military duties, and resumed in 2007 with his wife, Faye.
Debi Levine - Vice President
Debi has been our eNews Coordinator for many years, now. She became Vice President in January 2012. Debi and her husband, Dr. Gary Levine, enjoy ballroom dancing. Debi was voted volunteer of the year for our chapter for 2011.
Paul Hager - Treasurer
Paul joined our board as treasurer in January 2012, replacing John Bradley. Dr. Hager is a professor in the biology department at ECU and CEO of Chirazyme, a small biotechnology company in Greenville. He is also an active motorcyclist and teaches several classes a year for the NC Motorcycle Safety Education Program. Dr. Hager has a B.S. in Chemistry from Western Washington State University, and a PH.D. in Biochemistry from the University of California, Berkeley.
Gayle Watson - Secretary/Hospitality Coordinator
Gayle lives in Washington, NC and is the owner and operator of Watson In Homes. Her hobby turned second career, as a dancer, began with the opening of Dance Academy East in Washington where she teaches tap dancing and creative movement. She choreographed the 2006 production of "Blackbeard: Knight of the Black Flag, and for the past four years she has been involved in Washington's local production of "Dancing With Our Stars" as a performer and choreographer.
Faye Steele - Membership Coordinator
Faye began dancing in 2008 when David gave her lessons as a Christmas gift, as unbeknown to her, he was preparing her for a surprise "birthyear" party the following year.
Ann Harrington - Public Relations Coordinator
Ann has been dancing for three years. She started doing ballroom aerobics with Chikako Massey after reading about her class in the newspaper. And then she joined Chikako's group lessons for couples and eventually took some private lessons for her. She loves moving to music. She says it makes her feel alive.
